From the heart of the Third Reich to the remote islands in the South Pacific, Men of Courage puts you in charge of elite Commandos.
In Commandos Men of Courage you will be rescuing Allied soldiers, sabotaging enemy submarines and bumping off evil Nazis as well as looking to get your hands on important top secret enemy stuff.
Whilst the objectives are varied and span the globe the overall number of missions in Commandos can, at first, seem small as there are only 10 main missions. You have to play through them all sequentially, even though they aren't always related to one another and the relative length and difficulty of each mission doesn't necessarily increase from one mission to the next, either.
But rest assured, the missions are huge, and you'll spend many hours trying to accomplish the objectives in each one, plus there is the added incentive to replay each mission as bonus levels can be unlocked if you explore all areas of the main missions.
Pyro Studios take a sink-or-swim approach to their game design, dropping you straight into enemy territory and leaving you to figure out the intricacies of the game yourself. This can make the first hours of play pretty frustrating, but Commandos is well worth the effort it takes to learn and progress. As with all the Commandos games, the maps are full of detail and there is more than one way to achieve success. Atmosphere and tension are ladled on and the sense of joy from achieving your objectives is lasting.
