Moment of Truth is a sequel to the stealth action title Death to Spies. If you played the original game in the series you are still a member of SMERSH the Soviet counterintelligence mob (before they got rebranded the KGB). SMERSH literally means Death to Spies in Russian. Just so you know!
Captain Strogov from the original Death to Spies is back from his previous missions. He possesses all the skills required to accomplish especially dangerous missions including a lantern jaw of David Coultard proportions.
Getting information, assassinating enemy agents and high-ranking Wehrmacht’s officers forms the core of this stealth action fest. If you are familiar with Agent 47 of the Hitman games then you have an idea of what this game is all about but keep in mind this game is hard, Commandos hard. The AI is smart. If you leave bodies out in the open, the alarm is going to be raised. The Nazi sentries will see you coming a mile off, so studying the patterns of the guards and looking for holes in these and sneaking past them is a constant challenge. The good news is that there is more than one way of skinning the cat!
If all else fails, get out the chloroform, slit a throat and steal a uniform – but be aware enemy officers seem to have an unfailing ability to see through shoddy disguises!
Moment of Truth is a game that is pretty unforgiving and you need to invest a decent amount of time to achieve your objectives. The developer Haggard Games are not giving you an easy ride but the sense of accomplishment is consequently set high.
