The electric powered class 118 (until 1968 the name was E18) was first built in 1935. At that time the class was the fastest loco at the DRG. 53 were built before 1939 and the last two after the Second World War. The Class 118 was in service until 1984. With a maximum speed of 150 km/h (later reduced to 140 km/h) the loco was fast enough for long distances and was very popular by the staff.
The included carriages are the Am, ABm, Bm, BDms and include both a 1st class and 2nd class compartment passenger view. The carriages entered service with DB in 1955
