The Wolf is back. Not wolf, no, Wolf, from the original Stronghold game of 2001 has come back from the dead, or near death to reek havoc and seek vengence on those that defied him.
Firefly Studios the creators of the Stronghold series have brought their classic castle building strategy game up to date whilst retaining diseased sacks of badgers in the mix.
Stronghold always pushed proper building, creating village economies to support you ambition of building up the best castle possible. The better your local economy and the happier your villagers, then the more wealth created, the bigger your army could be and then spreading out to invade or fending off attacks, Stronghold always threw a lot at the player - but it all worked brilliantly in a medieval world at your fingertips kind of way. Did we mention the sacks of diseased badgers?
So now we have Stronghold 3 in front of us and there is every reason to believe Firefly Studios will offer up challenge after challenge - only this time with a brand new engine, lush with lighting and weather effects, combat at night and both single and multi-player combat refined to the point of the Wolf's sword.
In the world of real-time strategy, Firefly have owned the castle building category, the passion, historical insight and tongue in cheek approach blend to create fantastic games.
Set during the events of Stronghold 3’s military story, the Blackstaff campaign follows Thomas Blackstaff as he hunts down the three escaped sons of The Rat. Travel across the sea to Greyshore Island to battle the Evil Brotherhood.
Bigger than ever before, the world’s favorite castle sim now contains 3 core campaigns (including the new Blackstaff Campaign), 4 multiplayer modes (including the new Coronation mode), a free build sandbox mode and 12 historical sieges.
